Terms of Service

Medevo · Effective 22 June 2026 · Version 1.0

These Terms are a binding agreement between you and Medevo. They govern your use of the Medevo mobile application and related services. Please read them carefully — sections 14 (Disclaimers), 15 (Limitation of Liability), 16 (Indemnification), and 20 (Governing Law & Disputes) affect your legal rights and contain important limitations.

1.Acceptance of these Terms

By creating a Medevo account, or by accessing or using the app in any way, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated here by reference. If you do not agree, do not create an account or use the app, and uninstall it if you already have it.

If you use Medevo on behalf of a business or other organisation, you represent that you are authorised to bind that entity, and "you" refers to both you and that entity.

2.Definitions

3.Eligibility

To use Medevo you must:

We may require verification of your age or identity at any time and may suspend access until verification is complete.

4.Your account & security

One account per person. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account and for keeping your sign-in credentials and device secure. You agree to:

We are not liable for any loss arising from unauthorised use of your account where you failed to keep your credentials secure.

5.The Medevo service — what it is and isn't

Medevo is a neutral marketplace that connects Posters and Applicants. We are a venue and a technology provider only.

6.Your content & the license you give us

You retain ownership of your Content. To operate the service, you grant Medevo a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt (for formatting and display), translate, index, and transmit your Content solely for the purposes of operating, providing, securing, and improving Medevo. This licence ends when your Content is deleted, except where:

You represent and warrant that you own or have all rights necessary to your Content and that it does not infringe the rights of any third party or violate any law.

7.Listings, applications & user dealings

Posters are solely responsible for the accuracy and legality of their advertisements, for any representations or commitments made to Applicants, and for compliance with all applicable labour, wage, anti-discrimination, and tax laws.

Applicants are solely responsible for the accuracy of their CV and any information shared in chat.

Because dealings between users happen off-platform once contact is made, you interact with other users at your own risk. We are not responsible for, and disclaim all liability arising from, the conduct of any user, any job, any interview, any payment of wages, or any dispute between users. We have no obligation to become involved in user disputes but may do so at our discretion.

8.Acceptable use & prohibited activities

You agree not to, and not to permit anyone to:

9.Content moderation & enforcement

Advertisements, chat messages, and CVs are screened automatically against a multi-language blocked-terms list (English, Arabic, and Kurdish Sorani). Matches may block a message, downgrade an advertisement to draft, or generate a moderation report for review. We may also act on user reports submitted through the in-app Report flow.

We may, with or without notice, remove or restrict any Content and warn, suspend, or terminate any account that we reasonably believe violates these Terms or the law. In clear-cut cases we may act immediately and without prior notice. We are not obligated to monitor Content but may do so.

10.Boosts, payments & refunds

Boosts (7, 14, or 30 days) are one-time, non-renewing digital purchases sold and processed through Google Play or the Apple App Store. The relevant store handles the payment; we receive only a confirmation and the product identifier you purchased.

11.App stores & third-party services

Your download and use of the app is also subject to the terms of the store you obtained it from (Google Play or the Apple App Store). Where those store terms conflict with these Terms, the store terms govern your relationship with the store, and these Terms govern your relationship with us.

For Apple devices: you acknowledge that these Terms are between you and Medevo, not Apple; that Apple has no obligation to provide support or to address any claim relating to the app; and that Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries entitled to enforce these Terms against you.

The app relies on third-party services (including Google Firebase for authentication, data, messaging, crash reporting, and analytics, and Google Maps for location features). Your use of those features may be subject to the third party's terms, and we are not responsible for third-party services.

12.Medevo's intellectual property

The Medevo name, logo, app, design system, software, and all related intellectual property are owned by Medevo and protected by law. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for its intended purpose. No other rights are granted. You may not use our trademarks or branding without our prior written consent.

13.Privacy

Our handling of your personal data — including what we collect, the city-level-only location model, CV snapshots, crash and analytics data, and the 30-day account-deletion grace period — is described in our Privacy Policy. By using Medevo you agree to that Policy.

14.Disclaimers & no warranty

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, or that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, timely, or error-free. We do not warrant any job, user, listing, or outcome. Any material you obtain through the service is accessed at your own discretion and risk.

15.Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Medevo and its owners, employees, and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of income, profits, opportunities, data, goodwill, or reputation, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the service, any dealing or dispute with another user, or any job or employment.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the service will not exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you paid us in the three (3) months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) USD 50 (or its equivalent in Iraqi dinar). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you; in that case our liability is limited to the smallest amount permitted by law.

16.Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Medevo and its owners, employees, and suppliers from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your Content; (b) your use of the service; (c) your violation of these Terms or any law; (d) your dealings with any other user; or (e) your infringement of any third-party right.

17.Term & termination

These Terms apply for as long as you use the service. You may stop at any time and may delete your account from Profile → Settings → Delete account; deletion is scheduled 30 days out and can be cancelled within that window by signing back in, as described in the Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate your account or access at any time, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms or the law, if required to protect users or the service, or if we discontinue the service. On termination, the licences you granted continue only to the limited extent described in section 6, and sections that by their nature should survive (including 6, 7, and 12–22) survive termination.

18.Suspension & changes to the service

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service — including features such as Boosts or premium membership — at any time. We are not liable to you for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation, except as required by law. We do not promise any particular level of availability and provide no service-level guarantee.

19.Force majeure

We are not liable for any failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including acts of God, natural disasters, war, civil unrest, government action, power or internet failures, or failures of third-party providers or stores.

20.Governing law & dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Iraq, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under local law, the competent courts of Iraq will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service.

Before filing any claim, you agree to first contact us at medevo.iq@gmail.com and attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.

21.Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes we will provide reasonable notice — for example, an in-app notice or a prompt — at least 7 days before they take effect, unless a change must take effect sooner for legal or security reasons. The "Effective" date and version at the top reflect the latest version. Your continued use after the changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms; if you do not agree, stop using the service and delete your account.

22.General provisions

Entire agreement

These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Medevo regarding the service and supersede any prior agreements.

Severability

If any provision is found unenforceable, it will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions stay in full effect.

No waiver

Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.

Assignment

You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign them, for example in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

Notices

We may give you notice through the app or by the email associated with your account. You may reach us at the address in section 23.

Language

These Terms may be provided in English, Arabic, and Kurdish Sorani. If there is a conflict in interpretation, the English version prevails to the extent permitted by law.

Reviewer's note: This document is a comprehensive, good-faith Terms of Service drafted for a job-marketplace app operating in Iraq. It is not a substitute for advice from a lawyer licensed in your jurisdiction. Before public launch, have a qualified Iraqi attorney confirm the governing-law, consumer-protection, labour-law, and liability-cap provisions, and verify that the operating entity named in section 2 is correctly identified.
